Buying a Side of Beef - What to expect

Why purchase a Side of Beef?

Buying a side of beef is generally considered the most budget concsious way to purchase beef. You get all your steaks, mince, roasts, gravy cuts and even schnitzel at one set price per kg.

You get to choose the cut of your steaks - Thin Cut, Standard or New York Cut.

You get to choose how many steaks get packed per packet.

You get to choose, do your prefer Gravy Cuts, Roasts, more Mince or do you want Sausages made?

 

How much does it cost to order a Half Beast?

You pay for the entire weight of the side of beef including the bone weight. 

For example:

A side of beef might weigh approximately 130kg

130kg x $18.49kg  =  $2400   

You might think that is a lot of money .... But lets break it down so you can see what you get for your money and the overall value per kg, that makes it a great option if you have the space.

You end up paying $18.49kg for Eye Fillet, Scotch Fillet and Sirloin Steaks which can range in retail pricing between $55-$85 per kg.

You end up paying $18.49kg for Roast Beef or Casserole Cuts which can range in retail pricing between $29-$36 per kg.

Even your basic Beef Mince starts at $19.99kg - So overall, even losing bone weight, it's a cost effective way to buy your beef.

You will loose approximately 1/3 of the weight to bones as they are removed during processing. If you have a dog, you might want to keep them as dog bones, otherwise we can dispose of them for you. Or you may choose cuts that include them, For eg, Beef Short Ribs or Beef Shank etc.

 

Our butchers will call you to ask:

How many in the family - So we package the correct amounts of meat to each packet and cut roasts to a usable size for your family.

Which cuts you would prefer, they will advise you of the available options.

 

Are there any additional Charges?

The only additional charges to processing your beef will be if you request sausages from your beef.

We will charge you a per kg rate of the total amount fo sausages made, as we will need to add in, Sausage Casings, Sausage Seasoning, and addtional fat to make your sausages. If you request Sausages we will inform you of the cost per kg at the time we take your cutting order.

 

Things to Note:

The price includes all the cutting, packaging and labelling of your beef.

The price includes making corned beef if you choose it.

We will freeze down your beef to keep it fresh and in the best possible condition.

This product is not suitable for courier. You will need to arrange to come and collect it.


How do I place an order for a side of beef?

Website: You pay your deposit online. Search for the product, Half Beast or Side of Beef. Pay your deposit and we will be in touch.

Instore: Come in and chat to us in the store, we can take down your cuts and you can pay your deposit at the till.

The deposit is a non-refundable $200. Once your beef arrives in store, we will then have its exact weight and we can email you an invoice to pay the rest online before you come to collect it.

 

I don't have that kind of money or freezer space, but I still want to purchase a side of beef as it's such great value.

Ask your family or friends if they want to go halves with you. Sharing the order means everyone benefits from the price per kg and you can divide it up between yourselves once you have it home.
